Physical activity and movement have gained an increasingly clear place in the preschool's mission. The curriculum highlights children's need for movement, body image and well-being as an important part of education. At the same time, research shows that many children today move less than before, which in the long term can affect both health, learning and well-being. Preschools therefore have an important role in laying the foundation for good habits and a positive relationship with movement already at an early age.

Children's movement is therefore a central part of our work for a sustainable lifestyle. At Vanten, we have developed a movement policy to ensure that all children have ample opportunities for daily physical activity. We offer daily activities such as dance, play and spontaneous movement both indoors and outdoors.

Our learning environments are designed to inspire active play and motor challenges, and the staff are present role models who encourage the joy of movement. All children participate based on their circumstances and are given the opportunity to influence the activities. The policy is followed up annually and is part of our continuous development work.
